Spark From The Flame
Making their professional debut, Jenna Magaziner and Daletza Benitez Macias are excited to present "Spark from the Flame". Featuring original arrangements, this concert takes music from different worlds to narrate a story of love, failure, strength, and how people from different paths fuse together in friendship. Jenna and Daletza showcase their journeys by forging elements of a cappella, musical theatre, and vocal jazz into a unique blend of voices and instruments.

Our cast:

Jenna Magaziner (Director/Lead)
Born and raised in Sacramento, Jenna has always had a love and talent for music. She spent her childhood in piano lessons, but her heart belonged to singing. As an adult she studied music at American River College, where she spent 3 years performing with director Art Lapierres nationally-renowned ARC Vocal Jazz Ensemble. In her time there she won 3 Downbeat Awards and performed for several festivals and conventions across the country, including the Monterey Next Generation Jazz Festival and the Jazz Educators Network Conference held in New Orleans. This is Jennas first professional endeavor in co-directing and arranging a full-length concert and she could not be more excited to see it come to life.

Daletza Benitez Macias (Director/Lead)
Born and raised in Mexico, Daletza grew up in an artistic family and discovered her interest in music through her involvement in theatre, both on and off stage. Her older brother's passion for music inspired her to pursue music on a serious level, and at age 18 she started private voice training with Michelle Coder. Daletza fell in love with singing and decided to pursue a degree in music. She began studying under the direction of Dr. Art LaPierre and became immersed in the world of jazz and ensemble singing. Her onstage credits include Rosie Alvarez, Madame Thenardier, Emily, and Mrs.Teevee.

Sam Hoang (Soprano)
Originally from Vietnam, Sam has had many fun and exciting experiences in the musical world. She began learning the piano at 7 years old. At 13, she started training to sing and dance at a major company, where she had her first of many performances. During high school, she went from performing for three years at the Soul Academy, a private music institute in Vietnam, to organizing and performing an SIC Charity Concert. Once she came to America, she sang in the ARC Vocal Jazz Choir under the direction of Dr. Art LaPierre. Sams goal is to keep performing and is looking forward to furthering her musical career.

Lorraine A. De Arco (Alto)
Born in San Francisco, partly raised in the Philippines and now residing in Sacramento County, Lorraines theatre credits include Miss Saigon, Smokey Joes Café, The Wiz and RENT. She has also performed the National Anthem at numerous sporting events such as the Sacramento Kings, Sacramento Rivercats, San Francisco 49ers, Oakland As, San Francisco Giants and Sacramento Republic, to name a few. Lorraine is currently a lead vocalist for Cover Me Badd, a recipient of the KCRA 3 A-List here in Sacramento. As always, this show is dedicated to her parents. Thank you for loving me. Music soothes the savage beast.

Kellyn Stephens (Tenor)
Kellyn is a voice actor who was bitten by a radioactive jazz vocalist. He spent four years as tenor for Sierra College's vocal jazz ensemble, where he discovered that pure magic is found in singing complex chords with wonderful people. You can currently catch Kellyn completely disregarding the fourth wall with 6 Players Theatre Company in their myriad immersive musicals, as they're the only folks that put up with his endless puns.

Jason Korn (Baritone)
Jason Korn is 16 years old and lives in Auburn. He is attending his 5th year with Sacramento Theatre Companys, Young Professional Conservatory and 3rd year with the Music Circus Gala. He loves singing, acting, writing music, and spending time with his family and friends. He is thrilled to be part of his first Acapella performance!
