Sacramento Heritage "Preservation Academy": Identifying & Improving the Energy Performance of Historic Homes
Hosted by Sacramento Heritage, Inc., a city affiliated 501(c)(3) nonprofit, these training sessions provide education and hands-on skills in historic preservation. This session focuses on identifying and improving the energy performance of historic homes.
Preservation architect Matt Piner provides effective strategies for green rehabs of historic buildings, including insulation, re-roofing, and new methods including insulation, re-roofing, ventilation, and Piners patented RaVe Roof system of double skin assembly, accmpanied by case studies and photographs.
Preservation architect Mark Huck will discuss the economics of energy efficient rehab and available sources of funding for these projects, including rebates and tax credits.
This event is part of Sacramento Heritage Inc's Preservation Academy series of events, and is also sponsored by WCAPT (Western Chapter, Association for Preservation Technology.) This class also counts for 2 hours of American Institute of Architects' HSW (Health, Safety & Welfare) continuing education units.
This "Preservation Academy" class is free, but registration is encouraged to ensure sufficient seating and materials, especially for those seeking AIA LU/HSW credits.
