Music for a Cause: A Recital Benefiting the American Civil Liberties Union
Frustrated with the current administration's lack of accountability? Care about protecting the healthcare rights of women? Want to fight to end family separation at our borders? Cool, us too.
Join us on Wednesday, June 12th, for a fundraiser benefiting the ACLU. In light of our current political climate, we seek to bring attention to a variety of issues by raising funds for an organization which continues to fight so many of the good fights.
Flutist Kim O'Hare Bonacorsa and pianist Martha Locker will be performing exciting works, all from American composers, featuring Muczynski, Coleman, Dorff, Liebermann, and Copland.
Tickets can be purchased on-line, or on the day of the event (if tickets remain). Not able to attend but want to contribute? We thank you, and appreciate giving what you can.
General Admission: $25 VIP (Front Row): $35 Students: $20
Who we are:
Kim O'Hare Bonacorsa: Kim is a freelance flutist in New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania. She plays for Wicked on Broadway, in addition to the Harrisburg Symphony and Lancaster Symphony in Pennsylvania. She will also be traveling to Austria this summer to perform with the AIMS Festival Orchestra.
Christine Koehler: Christine is the founder and CEO of beauty brand Flora 1761. She also has past experience working with various non-profits focused on social causes ranging from end-of-life care to empowering abused women.
Mindy Lupo: Mindy is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in New York, overseeing the social work department at Queens Legal Services. In this role, Mindy is dedicated to serving system-involved individual by providing assistance and service for housing, immigration, survivor, and other civil needs. She also works in a private psychotherapy practice work and consults as an expert forensic social worker.
We are three women with creative interests, entrepreneurial spirits, and strong social conscience. With the current administration's ongoing attempts to silence women and limit the rights of individuals across the country, we chose the ACLU as the recipient of this donation as they continue efforts fighting for so many causes. All proceeds from this event will be donated to the ACLU.
