Made in Industry City Tour

In 1890, Irving T. Bush endeavored to build a monumental intermodal warehousing and distribution center on the Brooklyn waterfront. Ridiculed as "Bush's Folley" at the time, Bush Terminal would quickly become a major international seaport employing neary 25,000 people. By the 1960s urban manufacturing entered a decades long period of decline as most major manufacturers closed their doors.

Fast forward to the present. $400M of capital investment has transformed 16 buildings and 6M square feet of space on 35 acres into a thriving community campus. Today's Industry City is a micro-economy of over 500 innovative companies and entrepreneurial start-ups.

Join me on an industrial strength Made in Brooklyn Tour® of Industry City. Get off the ground floor and go behind the scenes of a curated selection of unique Brooklyn makers literally "makin' it" in Brooklyn. Tours are designed for small to mid-sized groups for an especially good time together. Celebrate our Creativity, Ingenuity & Entrepreneurial Spirit and see who's makin' it in Brooklyn!

About Me

I'm Dom Gervasi and I'm a native Brooklynite from Bensonhurst. I started Made in Brooklyn Tours® in 2011 after a career working for communications equipment manufacturers. Inspired by makers I discover on my travels abroad, it's my business to seek out who's "makin' it" here in Brooklyn. I personally lead all Made in Brooklyn Tours®, am a licensed NYC Sightseeing Guide and advocate for sustainable tourism as a member of the Impact Travel Alliance.
