Resist, Rebel, Rewrite! A Concert of New Music for Stonewall's 50th Anniversary
Invisible City
Denver, CO
Compartir este evento

Celebrate Pride at the Playground Ensemble's second annual Pride concert, at Invisible City, a stunning venue in the West Colfax neighborhood.

You will receive the address of Invisible City after you purchase a ticket.  It will appear in your order confirmation email, under "2. Ticket Details."
Unfortunately, Invisible City is not wheelchair-accessible.  There is a series of steps up from the sidewalk to the front door.

The evening features four new works that examine queer history from personal perspectives, as well as visual art by Denver-based artist Adri Norris. A reception with wine, beer, and non-alcoholic beverages, follows the performance.

Egemen Kesikli's The [Black] Outs is inspired by Steffan Triplett's poem of the same name.  It is a thought-provoking meditation on marginalized identity, oppression, and defiance.

Madelyn Byrne's Transformation - A Tribute to Stormé deLarverie celebrates the life of Stormé DeLarverie, a long-time entertainer and activist who was present at the Stonewall uprising.

Anthony R. Green's Shot Glass (Saint Marsha - Pay It No Mind), with text by Elizabeth A. Baker, is a multi-faceted portrait of Marsha P. Johnson, another activist and participant at the Stonewall uprising.

S. Wellington's multimedia work when my body becomes the art explores gender, personal agency, and physicality, by chronicling the composer's process leading to the decision to go on testosterone.
