Directors Choice

The Dance Project presents Directors Choice. We are a nonprofit professional company of dancers and choreographers striving harmoniously to create a beautiful performance that all audiences will enjoy. We offer a show with many different types of dance from Sassy Jazz to Contemporary Ballet. TDP is excited to welcome back returning guest artists, Cheryl Copeland, Rebecca Gamborino, Poet Powell, Hannah Vasquez and Shell Baumann.
Their creativity and innovative pieces are always a joy to see on stage. Adriana Okoye is joining us for the first time and her piece is inspired by the social media era and the way it consumes people's attention almost more than reality itself. In Directors Choice, TDP has curated some of the company's most inspirational works. Artistic Director and resident choreographer, Tisha Coffey is presenting 'Shapes and Lines' which blends the soft beauty of ballet and the quirky fun of modern in a fun and influential way. Also returning with a beautiful ballet is Dr. Diana Wang with "Vanya" inspired by the amazing violin music from Umbrella Academy.

Tisha and Diana Wang founded TDP so they could perform with adult dancers who wanted to be challenged and create an atmosphere that while fun and creative also pushes dancers to perform at a professional level. We really enjoy coming to dance every Sunday and working with all the talented dancers and choreographers. Everyone pushes to be the best they can be and we all still learn from each other at the same time. TDP is closing our 5th season with Directors Choice and I cannot wait to see what the future holds for us all.
