More about Nam Sui:
Nam is the Area Habitat Biologist for WDFW covering the North Kitsap County and Bainbridge Island. As the Area Habitat Biologist, he is responsible for implementing various state and local laws and applying best available science to protect fish and wildlife habitats from land-use and development activities. He is also heavily involved with restoration and enhancement of fish and wildlife habitats as well as salmon recovery planning for the Hood Canal and Central Puget Sound regions. Nams background is in oceanography and marine biology, before WDFW he worked as a science manager on an oceanographic research vessel exploring deep sea ecosystems such as hydrothermal vents and methane seeps using ROV technology. He also worked for several years as an environmental consultant specializing in scientific SCUBA surveys of submerged aquatic vegetation. Perhaps it is because of all the time he has spent underwater counting seagrasses, seaweeds, and kelps that Nam is so fond of them!
