Soap Making Class with Longfellow Soap Company
Learn to make all natural soap with John Hanson, owner/maker of the Longfellow Soap Company. The class lasts 2-1/2 hours and is a demonstration class as lye is used (as it has for over 5,000 years). Each student will receive a manual that lists equipment needed, ingredients and where to buy locally, Johns "secret recipe", instructions for making soap, and websites for purchasing essential oils. Each student takes home five bars of soap the night of the class
About the instructor: John Hanson is the owner of The Longfellow Soap Company and a a longtime resident of Seward and Longfellow neighborhoods. He began making soap after taking a class that he purchased from a fundraising event for the Friends Quaker School in St. Paul. At first he gave all his soap away to family and friends until they started asking to buy it! Before making soap, John worked years in retail and another 14 in woodworking and carpentry.
