Tier5's The Wonderful Wizard of Oz
Tier5 presents
a staged reading of...
The Wonderful Wizard of Oz
a new play by James Cougar Canfield, adapted from the novel by L. Frank Baum
Performing April 7th, 2019 With showings at 11am | 3pm | 7pm
Shortly after her parents' deaths, Dorothy has come to middle of nowhere Kansas to live with her Aunt Em and Uncle Henry. Lonely and bored, Dorothy is slowly turning sepia, until a cyclone carries her to the mysterious and dangerous Land of Oz.
Based on the novel by L. Frank Baum, this contemporary adaptation follows Dorothy on her journey to meet the Wizard of Oz, and to kill a witch or two. Through her adventures, she must find the courage, heart, and sense to come to terms with her parents' deaths and find her way home.
Please join us for this staged reading of Tier5 co-founder, James Cougar Canfield's latest play and help Tier5 raise money to carry on creating feminist/queer revisionist stories for the 21st century.

*About Tier5* In 2015, Tier5 began its life as a collective of graduate students from East 15 Acting School's MFA Acting (International) program in London. Its first project, Ladies in Waiting: The Judgement of Henry VIII, was a dark comedy/drama that allowed Henry VIII's wives to finally tell him how much he actually sucked.
Ladies in Waiting went on to have sold-out, critically acclaimed runs at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, Los Angeles, and Washington D.C., winning the 2017 Hollywood Fringe International Award and the 2017 TVolution Award for Best Ensemble. In 2018, it made its US regional theatre debut with Southwest Shakespeare Company in Scottsdale, AZ, enjoying another critcially acclaimed, sold-out run.
Taking the well-worn tropes and known facts of history and literature and revisiting them through a feminist and queer light clicked and Tier5 found its voice, and now, we're incredibly excited to present our second production.
Tier5 will presents its latest full production, MEG JO BETH AMY & LOUISA, in the Balcony Theatre at the Center at West Park, April 24- May 4th. Tickets available at centeratwestpark.org
