Gigi Semone Executive Director, NYS Governor's Office of Motion Picture & Television Development - Moderator
As Executive Director, Gigi Semone is responsible for marketing New York State as a location for film and television production and oversees new initiatives to grow the industry, especially Upstate. Prior to joining Empire State Development, Semone was the Executive Vice President of National Publicity for Sony Pictures Entertainment, where she crafted and executed national broadcast, digital, print and radio publicity strategies. Prior to joining Sony, Semone was the Vice President of Walt Disney Companys East Coast Publicity division, where she successfully managed all aspects of magazine publicity for live action and animated films and executed east coast events and press coverage. Semone received her B.A. from Colgate University. A born and raised New Yorker, she resides in New York City with her husband.
Sirad Balducci, Independent Film Producer - Panelist
Sirad Balducci is based in New York City and has worked with Julien Schnabel, Julien Temple, Peter Masterson, Nick Cassavetes, Lone Survivor director Peter Berg, Joel David Moore, and Homeland creator Michael Cuesta. Producing credits include Roadie starring Ron Eldard, Jill Hennessy and Bobby Cannavale which premiered at Tribeca Film Festival and won Best Feature Film at Stonybrook Film Festival in 2011. Balducci co-produced THE LONGEST WEEK starring Jason Bateman, Olivia Wilde and Billy Crudup; GROWING UP & OTHER LIES starring Josh Lawson, Adam Brody and Wyatt Cenec; YOUTH IN OREGON directed by Joel David Moore starring Frank Langella, Billy Crudup and Christina Applegate which premiered at Tribeca in 2016 and HIDE & SEEK with Jonathan Rhys Meyers. She produced ARE YOU JOKING starring Katherine Waterson and Hannibal Buress and THE LENNON REPORT - Best Feature at High Falls Film Festival 2015. Balducci founded The Give Film Foundation in 2018 to produce feature films that have a social impact and is currently producing LOCKDOWN a short film, which she wrote and will direct. Balducci is developing a TV series entitled REGIMENT OF WOMEN based on the novel by Thomas Berger. Balducci is a member of the Directors Guild of America and New York Women in Film, has two young daughters and is represented by Gersh NY.
Summer Crockett Moore, Actress/Producer - Panelist
Summer Crockett Moore is an award-winning actress/producer and a Managing Partner and founding member of Choice Films Inc. and Choice Theatricals. As a producer, she has helmed award-winning independent feature length and short ?lms, Off-Broadway and Regional theater productions. Additionally, Summer served as a Showrunner and Line Producer for the upcoming television series Big Dogs. Feature Film projects include: Trick, The Scottish Play, Beauty Mark, Above All Things, After the Sun Fell, Lez Bomb, Lost Cat Corona, Dead Sound, Junction, Heather, Wholly Broken. Short Films include: Trust Me Im A Lifeguard, These Things We Hold, Mired, Symposium, A Younger Man. TV Projects: Big Dogs, Vevos One Night Only. NY Theatre projects include the Off-Broadway world premieres of Scrambled Eggs, Reading Under the Influence, Stain, In the Daylight, and Tune In, as well as revivals of Playing with Fire and Five Women Wearing The Same Dress, and the regional / world premiere of the new plays, Between the Lines, and American Stare.
Tyson Bidner, Producer/Production Manager - Panelist
Tyson Bidner has over 20 years of experience in the film and television business. He studied at NYUs Stern School of Business, graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Marketing and Management. As a Production and Location manager, Bidner has worked with some of the greatest filmmakers of our time, including Darren Aronofsky (NOAH), Joss Whedon (THE AVENGERS), Joel and Ethan Coen (INSIDE LLEWYN DAVIS, TRUE GRIT, A SERIOUS MAN) and Sam Mendes (AWAY WE GO). He also was Production Supervisor and Assistant Director of Noah Baumbach's FRANCES HA and MISTRESS AMERICA. Other Producing and Managing credits include: Four seasons of the award winning - The Americans, The Looming Tower, The Iron Fist, Succession, Sex and The City, Stuart Little 2, Annie, White Collar, Birdman, Third Watch, The Apprentice and Captain America. In 2004 Bidner won the Toronto Film Festivals Pitch This competition. He was awarded Location Manager Recognition in 2010 and 2011, for Location Managing an Academy Award Nominated Best Picture two years in a row.
The New York State Governor's Office of Motion Picture & Television Development offers film, television and commercial production and post-production tax credits for qualified expenditures in New York State. These tax credit programs continue to be the principal factor cited by productions when deciding to film and produce in New York, contributing billions of dollars to the state's economy. The office also helps productions navigate the landscape, serving as a liaison between production companies and city and local governments, state agencies, a network of statewide contacts, local film offices and professional location scouts and managers.
