Champagne Jean Josselin Wine Dinner
The Resort at Port Ludlow is delighted to host Sharona Tsubota, of Champagne house Jean Josselin, for a paired five-course tasting menu featuring ingredients from local farms, fisheries, and producers. Our Executive Chef, Dan Ratigan, and our sommelier, Andrew Wiese, are crafting the menu, which will be added to this listing very soon. Wines will include exclusive cuvées being imported for the first time to the west coast.
Tickets are strictly limited to fifteen guests. A limited quantity of the wines served will be available for purchase on the evening at discounted prices.
The ticket cost for the evening is $166, including the $125 ticket, gratuity, and booking fee.

Champagne Jean Josselin is a member of the Regional Federation of Independent Winegrowers and adheres to the Terra Vitis standards for sustainable development and corporate social responsibility:
The Josselin family have been winegrowers for generations, acquiring their first vineyard in 1854 on the land abutting Gyé sur Seine, a champagne village crossed by the Seine river.
Starting with some parcels inherited from his parents, Jean Josselin labored hard and built his vineyards among the best hillsides of the region, replete with evocative names: Beauregard, Davasgné, Cosvigne.
In 1957, the great champagne adventure began, when he created his own brand: Champagne Jean Josselin.
Our vineyards are comprised of 14 parcels, which benefit from varied exposures, thus assuring a wider diversity in future wines.
At a distance of about 4 km from the winery, we must cross trails, forests and valleys to find our vines living peacefully to the rhythm of the moon and the seasons, lulled by an almost religious silence, disturbed only by the presence of the birds and wild game.
We cultivate the three main varietals of Champagne, in a continental climate on soils of clay and limestone, allowing us to create elegant and fruity Champagnes. In particular, the Pinot Noir vines find all the key elements conducive to their good development in our clay/limestone soil from the Kimmeridgian period. It allows the Pinot Noir grown on this soil to best express its fruitiness, finesse, and delicacy.
By vinifying each parcel separately, we build a deep knowledge of our parcels over the years. Its a long and exacting task, requiring attention at all times.
