It's 2019 and we're back with our first show of the season, Fantasy Island. Join the Captain and our Cruise Director as they lead you on a fantastical voyage aboard the S.S. Kiki. We are excited to announce two shows this time:
- 6:30pm Show, the Bar and Doors open at 6:00pm - 9:00pm show, (doors open at 8:30pm) the Bar and lobby will still be open, so come early and grab a drink and hang before the show!
We are excited to announce our partnership with Charlie's Chicago for the official after-party for each of our shows in 2019!! Come to the late show (or grab a few drinks before we get there) and join the Kiki Queens for a drink and dance the night away at our official afterparty.
100% of tickets sales from Fantasy Island will be donated to our partner nonprofit El Rescate. They provides Transitional Housing for youth, ages 18-24, who are LGBTQ and/or HIV+. El Rescate also provides prevention & support services for youth at risk of or currently experiencing homelessness, or have runaway. More info at: https://prcc-chgo.org/programs/el-rescate/
Last year we were able to help raise over $18,000 through our events and shows and we are so proud and excited to keep that momentum going for 2019!
About the Kiki Queens: Our mission is to raise awareness and funds, through performance, for Chicago area nonprofits doing services in the LGBT+ community.
We formed in October of 2017 as a group of live-singing Drag Queens and other specialty performers. The seed was planted when one of our Kiki Queens attended a Rubi Girls fundraising show in Dayton, Ohio. For those of you who don't know the them, they are a fantastic group of men who have been raising money (almost at the $2 million mark) through drag performance for the last 30 years. Look them up, they are inspiring!
She brought that idea back home to Chicago where luckily she had a group of pretty talented friends. She pitched the idea of raising money for local LGBT+ nonprofits through live-singing drag performance and it was a no-brainer for all the Queens...and for one, it was, well...she's pretty, you know.
Kiki Queens is registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit and 100% of the ticket sales from our performances go to local LGBTQ+ nonprofits. We want to raise funds and inspire people to engage in the LGBT+ non-profit community as well. Each show, we will partner with a different Chicagoland LGBTQ+ nonprofit and all proceeds will be donated directly to our nonprofit partner. We can't wait for you to join the Kiki!
