Lori Bell (flute) and Tamir Hendelman Duo- PQ Sessions presents Jazz Plus (Sherman Oaks home concert)
PQ Sessions present: Jazz Plus: Tamir and Friends with dynamic and genre-crossing flutist
Lori Bell and award-winning pianist Tamir Hendelman.
The music will range from Leonard Bernstein to Brazil's Djavan, from French impressionism
to straight ahead modern jazz originals by Lori Bell inspired by her musical upbringing
in Brooklyn.
The concert will be at an artistic Sherman Oaks home featuring a masterfully rebuilt 1924
Louis XV Steinway known as the Purple Queen.
The duo will perform a 90-minute set at 7pm, followed by light snacks and
(non-alcoholic) refreshments. Doors open at 6:30pm.
Lori Bell plays with confidence and taste, with a proclivity toward the more subtle means of emotional expression. He rplaying has a many-layered depth, revaling a more meaningful art. Tamir Hendelman has played with Lori Bell on her albums Broklyn Dreaming and the Music of Djavan. They have collaborated on performances of her album Blue, featuring guitarist
Ron Satterfield - as well as Tamir's arrangement of Ravel's Le Tombeau de Couperin.

The PQ Sessions' Jazz Plus series celebrates the tradition of Jazz music and hopes to introduce audiences to new avenues and artists in the spirit of Jazz, the sound of surprise.
