Judy Carmichael and Larry Koonse Conversations and Swingtime! Concert

OC Music & Dance is proud to present a special evening with two exciting events featuring a duo of today's most electric jazz artists: Pianist, vocalist and song writer Judy Carmichael joins jazz guitarist extraordinaire Larry Koonse for two exciting performances in our intimate Black Box theater. Session I: Conversations
Thursday, January 31st, 4:00-5:30pm
Tickets: $10
The first session, entitled, "Conversations," features a highly interactive discussion and engagement with the audience. KUSC radio personality Alan Chapman moderates as our guest artists discuss their personal journeys in the industry, and reveal details about songwriting, performing and tips for building a successful career in jazz. The audience will also observe Judy and Larry as they offer live coaching and master class teachings to selected attendees.

Session II: SWINGTIME! Concert

Join Judy and Larry for a celebration of the Great American Songbook, from Gershwin and Cole Porter to Fats Waller and Peggy Lee. Our guest artists celebrate the music of swing piano greats with an evening of gems from the Great American Songbook, as well as her own witty compositions.
