DRAZZ with Katinka Foxxworth

Katinka Foxxworth makes her debut at The West End for an unforgettable night of live music with her trio and special guests. "Drazz" is the combination of a vocal jazz concert and a drag show. The set has been curated to appeal to a variety of listeners. (There may be a Mariah moment here and a sultry Janet Jackson rendition there) This show will be an intimate showcase of work Katinka and her band has specially crafted just for you. To top it off, on this night we will celebrate Katinka's birthday! Performance history includes: The New School for Jazz & Contemporary Music, Smalls, Cornelia Street Cafe, and Tomi Jazz.

$8 Online/$10 cash at door. 7 PM doors, 7:30 PM show. Two drink minimum. Table seating is first come, first served. Cash only in the performance room.

About the Band...

EVAN RYAN...born and raised in NYC, Evan has been immersed in the culture of soul and collective struggle that lives in the city's communities. Since the late 1990s Evan has played upright and electric bass in jazz and rock bands, for musicals and church services, and has advocated for the sharing of knowledge for collective empowerment. He received his BFA from the City College of New York, where he studied with world class artists such as Steve Wilson and Neal Miner and is pursuing a Masters degree at Purchase College where he studies with Jon Faddis, Doug Weiss, and others.

YOUNJU LEE... has performed contemporary music and fusion jazz throughout Korea. Currently residing in New York, she continues to perform jazz in such venues as The Kitano, Aaron Davis Hall, and clubs in Harlem.

ELIJAH MADURO...is a tenor saxophonist from Merrick, NY who has played for the last 10 years. He has performed in various ensembles, such as the All-County Jazz Ensemble, the Senior Jazz Ensemble at Usdan, and the Jazz Standard Youth Orchestra. He is currently a sophomore at the City College of New York, as part of the Macaulay Honors Program and he hopes to pursue a career in Jazz Performance.

CLARK BARNHART... is a drummer and percussionist. He has studied with Ed Soph, Jeff Hirchfield, and Dr Brad Meyer . Originally from the Susquehanna valley of Pennsylvania, Clark now lives in New York where he explores his diverse interests in music, culture, and ramen.
