Reflections on the Music Of Russian Exodus: Vladimir Drozdoff
Vladimir Drozdoff, born in 1882 in Saratov, Russia, was one of the most prominent students of the legendary Russian pianist and pedagogue, Anna Esipova, and of the famous composer, Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov. His brilliant career was brutally interrupted by the Bolshevik revolution and the waves of history washed him ashore at New York in 1922. The majority of his work was lost and/or forgotten until now...
This 80-minute-long narrated program written and directed by the societys co-founder George Borisov, in which Drozdoffs legacy is explored and performed by him and other musicians, such as a brilliant pianist Vyacheslav Gryaznov and Soprano Hanna Golodinskii along with recorded clips of the composers own performances.
The program is coordinated with a dramatic video presentation of historic photographs and recordings from the Societys archive. For more information on the Drozdoff society, please, visit their Facebook page.
