facilitated by Dr. Sarah Roseberry Lytle Univeristy of Washington Institute for Learning and Brain Science (ILABS)
You take a moment to look around your classroom. One child carefully stacks blocks, one on top of the other. Another sits quietly flipping the pages of a favorite book. Another pair of children make plans for how to cook their pretend dinner. So much activity, so much learning, but what it is happening cognitively and physiologically as these kids play and explore?
Children learn at an incredible rate, especially during the first five years of life. As we watch children learn and acquire new skills, an equally impressive transformation is taking place in children's brains.
This workshop highlights the latest brain science and explores how the latest research can inform the types of environment and quality of experiences we offer children.
