This delightful, fun Pioneer Valley trio is comprised of Zac Trojano along with brother and sister Matt and Kate Lorenz. They have aggressively eclectic tastes in music--everything from The Beatles to Miles Davis, Led Zeppelin to Tom Waits--which cooks up into something they call Roots-Rock/Junk-Folk. In the words of Dan Bolles of Seven Days, "They're a little bit country, a little bit rock'n'roll, a little bit old-timey and a whole lotta weird. But in a good way. Rusty Belle mashes genres as if they were tasty little sonic potatoes." Over the course of six albums and 150 shows a year they've won a legion of fans and impressed critics up and down the east coast. None other than Chris Smither said "This is some clever shit...clever both musically and lyrically...if that's all there were to it, you could leave it. but it's like clever with a sledgehammer and a knife.
