These two little folk ensembles share a taste for joyful melodies, cinematic story lines, and carefully crafted arrangements.
Vermont's Phil Henry has won numerous regional awards for his playful and compassionate story songs. Phil is inspired by folks like Martin Sexton, Richard Shindell, as well as Kurt Vonnegut and the Coen Brothers. He has a taste for sweet melodies a la Paul Simon that simply soar with positive vibes.
The YaYas hail from the Hudson Valley. A few years of entertaining as a cover band gave them the skill to hold a crowd's attention, and their hopeful, open hearts gave them the ability to create their own uplifting songs. Now with two Kerrville New Folk Finalist and a Falcon Ridge Most Wanted award under their belts, northeast audiences are discovering the YaYas sweet arrangements, featuring the expressive vocals of Catherine Miles and the percussive guitar of Jay Mafale.
We're very fortunate to offer an opening set by Canadian singer-songwriter Jory Nash. With seven albums under his belt, Jory is a seasoned performer whose catchy folk-pop-soul songs become fast favorites.
