Break out your bikini or swim trunks, and join us and our hand-picked crowd of artsy, different, funky (and nearly naked) New Yorkers for the glorious return of Gemini & Scorpio's legendary Russian Baths party...Village Voice Best of 2006 (G&S: "Best (and only) Russian-bathhouse dance party") meets Village Voice Best of 2007 (Slavic Soul Party!: "Best reason Tuesday should be the new Friday"). Whether single or coupled, straight or gay, you can have the steamiest bikini-clad dance party night of your life:
- Soak and sweat in the steam baths!
- Dance to live gypsy music!
- Drink free vodka!
- Smoke free hookahs!
- Eat yummy pierogies & other delicious ethnic foods!
- Get massages and platza treatments!
We will have the newly remodeled & sparkling clean baths to ourselves, with every steam room and sauna ready to please, plus a few hand-picked professionals on hand for the optional platzas and massages. There are three levels and multiple rooms to the space: Russian, Turkish and Swedish steam rooms, jacuzzi and cold plunge pool; the poolside lounge and the dance floor; hookah lounge and energy healing room upstairs; plus the rooftop smoking deck.
Inside, Slavic Soul Party!, NYC's ultimate Balkan party band, will get you sweating faster than the saunas with fiery Balkan brass, hip-grinding American funk, and ecstatic anthems both new and old (playing two sets, at 10pm and 12am). DJ Joro-Boro, collaborator on SSP!'s brand new remix album and former resident DJ of the infamous Mehanata (Bulgarian Bar), keeps the dance floor sizzling with his hot EthnoMesh Megalophonia mix till 2am while we dole out pierogies for everyone. There will be an open vodka bar 10-11pm. The cash bar will feature drinks at decidedly non-NYC prices.
This is the kind of party you always imagine, but can never quite find in real life...and may be the only one where you'll come out cleaner than when you came in.
With only 100 tickets available, all of our past baths parties have sold out in one week. This time around, we introduce a tiered pricing structure and staggered entry times to accommodate more guests--but we still expect to sell very quickly. If any tickets remain, we will make an announcement about door sales to our mailing list (you can sign on via the site).
VIP admission: $75
- Early admission to the baths (7pm-2am) with access to your own locker and a full-blown multi-course Russian feast at 8pm, plus the vodka open bar
Regular admission: $55
- Full admission to the baths (9pm-2am) with access to a shared locker, plus the vodka open bar
Discounted admission: $35
- Late admission to the baths (11pm-2am) with coat check only (no locker)
