Texas songwriter, musician & legendary producer Gurf Morlix finally comes to Caffe Lena! But the real story here is Gurf's fifth solo CD, Last Exit to Happyland. It is the best example yet of his innate musicality, exquisite taste, keen creative instincts, and well-honed ear for songwriting.
Morlix's trademark grit, soulfulness and authenticity bring together varied strains of American roots music: blues, rockabilly, Western swing, greasy R&B, shimmering ballads. His songs are peopled with characters "headed to reckoning day," as Morlix captures their emotional essence with meaty guitar playing and memorable lyrics.
