Please join us in welcoming Ann Pelo - author, educator, and former Hilltop faculty member - for a discussion about developing Ecological Identity in young children. Ann will share stories from her latest book "The Goodness of Rain" which chronicles her year caring for Dylan (also a Hilltop alumna) and considers the possibilities for connecting young children to their natural world.

6:30-7:00 appetizers and self-guided tour of Hilltop
7:00-8:30 reading and discussion

Registration for this event is free, but we would greatly appreciate donations to help us put on this special evening and support Hilltop's programs - there will be a donation basket at the door.
Copies of Ann's book, "The Goodness of Rain" will be for sale at the event.

Ann is a teacher educator, program consultant, and author whose primary work focuses on Reggio-inspired education, social justice and ecological teaching and learning, and the art of mentoring. She worked as a teacher and teacher mentor for sixteen years at Hilltop, a time that was formative for her thinking and writing. Ann is the author of five books: The Goodness of Rain: Developing an Ecological Identity in Young Children (2013), Season by Season the Year Unfolds: A Guidebook for Developing an Intentional Culture in Early Childhood Programs (2010), Rethinking Early Childhood Education (2008), The Language of Art: Inquiry-based Studio Practices in Early Childhood Settings (2007), and, with Fran Davidson, That's Not Fair: A Teacher's Guide to Activism with Young Children (2000).
