"Exciting, cathartic, and fun to watch," Rani Arbo & daisy mayhem are
deeply connected with each other and the music and it shows. Hailed as
one of "America's most inventive string bands" (The Boston Herald),
they mix traditional, original, and contemporary sounds on fiddle,
guitar, bass and recycled percussion, topped with joyous harmonies
from four skilled lead singers. Featuring unconventional percussive
instruments such as a cardboard box, tin cans, caulk tubes, and a
vinyl suitcase (95% recycled percussion!) this band is endlessly
creative. They'll hang a 200-year-old Georgia Sea Islands lyric over
a New Orleans groove. They'll set original words to an Irish fiddle
tune, then layer it with a groove on a South American box drum, and
the inventiveness just never slows down.
