Today Saratoga is officially celebrating "Charlie Eble Day" to honor the memory of one of Saratoga's greats. The heart of the celebration will take place at Caffe Lena with a whole afternoon of star-studded performances by some of our favorite local artists including Chuck Lamb, Bob Warren, Garland Nelson, Ariana Gillis, Rick & Sharon Bolton, Judy Wyle, Jeff Halstead, Alex Hale, Will Severin, John Nazarenko, Tim Wechgaeler, Marcus Ruggiero, Peter Davis, Steve Candlen, & Jeff Brisbin. Mayor Meg Kelley will stop by to read a Proclamation honoring Charlie, and others will offer a few words between performances.
This event will be a fundraiser for the brand new Charlie Eble Tech Internship. This paid internship will give students pursuing a career in audio engineering the opportunity to develop their interest and skills through live music production at Caffe Lena.
A beloved member of our musical community, Charlie Eble dedicated his life to helping musicians find the ideal sound for over 40 years. As a recording engineer, composer, sound designer and producer, Charlie was a man cherished by bands, advertising agencies, theater companies, venues, and radio and television stations. We lost Charlie in 2017 after a six year battle with cancer.
Stop at Hattie's Chicken Shack before the music starts and grab some "Chicken & Waffles for Charlie." Money raised will be donated to the Internship Fund.
Following the music festival there will be a buffet dinner at Mama Mia's starting at 7pm!
