Born and raised in Texas, Danny Whitecotton has been playing his folk and alt country to the coffee shop junkies and bar patrons of New York, Massachusetts and Vermont since his independently released first album "Go On and Rain" debuted in May 2012. Writing songs about life, second-chances, ghosts, and murder-mysteries Whitecotton has refused to shy away from the darkness of the human struggle or the potential light in everyone.
Growing up in a musical family, Danny began learning the piano at age 8, but it wasn't until he picked up the guitar that music started becoming his own. After a meandering musical journey that included drumming in a punk band, he. graduated from college in 2008 and dedicated himself to writing music. Working out his songs in a river cottage along the Mohawk River, he recorded and released his first full length album "Go On and Rain". Since then he has been touring the northeast while writing and recording songs for his second album, the release of which we are celebrating tonight!
