Colorado string quintet Meadow Mountain has grown from the seeds of traditional bluegrass music. The group began as a bunch of friends busking at the Vail Farmers Market, taking time to learn the traditional bluegrass tunes and fiddle melodies. Over the past four years they have taken this tradition into new territory, playing a tapestry of music that showcases their strong compositions and lightning fast improvisation.
Meadow Mountain first drew national attention by winning the 2017 RockyGrass band competition in Lyons, CO. There they caught the ear of The Infamous Stringdusters, who signed them to their label Tape Time Records. Since then, the young bluegrass quintet has been in the studio recording their first album produced by the Stringdusters banjo player, Chris Pandolfi.
