South Africa's Grammy award-winning choral group, Ladysmith Black Mambazo, has been singing songs of peace and unity for over fifty years. Following the vision of founder Joseph Shabalala, this legendary ensemble has worked to bring new interpretations to the music of their homeland. The group melds indigenous Zulu songs and dances with South African isicathamiya, a soft, shuffling style of dance accompanied by ragtime-influenced choral part-singing. Considered to be an inspiring cultural force by Nelson Mandela, Black Mambazo has touched a worldwide audience representing every corner of the religious, cultural, and ethnic landscape.

Ladysmith Black Mambazo was first introduced to the world after being featured on Paul Simon's album, Graceland. Since then, the group has sold millions of albums worldwide, collaborated with music icons such as Stevie Wonder, Dolly Parton, and Emmylou Harris, and performed for the Queen of England and Pope John Paul II.

This may be the only chance you will ever have to experience Ladysmith Black Mambazo in a setting as intimate as Caffe Lena. It is a tremendous honor and joy to give our audience this once in a lifetime opportunity!
