Big Sandy and his Fly-Rite Boys have been touring for over 25 years and become torchbearers of American roots music. The California-based group began as rockabilly revivalists in the 1980's, pulling together music from rock & roll, honky-tonk, rhythm & blues, soul, and doo-wop. With fourteen albums under their belt and a spot in the Rockabilly Hall-of-Fame, Big Sandy & His Fly-Rite Boys have gained a devoted following and show no sign of slowing down.
Sandy's most recent release, What A Dream It's Been (2018), is a collection of the band's favorite original numbers - all acoustic, reinterpreted with fresh new arrangements, rhythms, and instrumentation. This album celebrates the past 25 years, while setting the stage for further exploration and interpretation of the musical forms the group is most passionate about.
