Jim Gaudet and the Railroad Boys are at once old-timey and timeless. On one hand, their music is a gumbo platter of nostalgia, carrying listeners back to 1960s Louisiana and recalling memories of Hank Williams or the Stanley Brothers. But Gaudet and his band also serve as reminders of why old-time music continues to flourish and inspire today. While their genre is old, their lyrics and songwriting feel fresh and powerful, often featuring sharply funny satire. With up-tempo, dance-friendly music and a lively, engaging stage presence, Jim Gaudet and the Railroad Boys have attracted an avid fan base, both within the world of bluegrass and beyond. Their newest album, When It Rains, was released last year, and includes a song about a visit to Saratoga Springs.
