Many of Bob Dylans songs have become American standards heard on every stage where music is performed, from symphony halls to bar rooms, from houses of worship to jazz clubs. Jazz musicians such as Joshua Redman, Brad Mehldau, Jamie Saft, Bill Frisell and Lindsey Horner have made a cottage industry of turning familiar Dylan melodies into launch pads for improvisation, finding a message in his music, just as much as in his words.
Tonight, the brightest lights of the Capital Region jazz scene assay Bob Dylan in the same room where he launched his career in 1961. Join the Arch Stanton Quartet and killer combos led by Keith Pray, Chuck Lamb and Lecco Morris, along with host Michael Eck, for a night of classic Dylan, jazz style.
