Swedish singer-songwriter Sofia Talvik mixes Nordic melancholy with a twang of Americana, bringing a thoroughly contemporary sound to our Global Voices Series. Foot percussion and rhythmic guitar picking create a steady base for her show-stealing vocals. She binds together intimate, heartfelt songs with personal anecdotes from her many tours in the USA and Europe, creating a warm and relaxed environment for the audience. Performing mostly original songs in English, Sofia brings a novel mix to her American audiences with a few fresh interpretations of Swedish traditional songs. She has headlined Lollapalooza and SXSW and hit #15 on the Americana radio charts last year.
