with Abigail Gary
This 6 hour workshop will take you through all the steps needed to turn your family photographs into treasured works of art. We will begin by preparing our 16x20 canvas with a gloss medium.
Abigail will show you how to make an enlargement of your photo using the grid method. After painting our canvas with black oil paint the 16x20 sketch will be transferred to it. We will use a variety of tools and techniques to selectively remove paint to create our final painting.
Please bring 8x10 black and white photo copies of 3-4 photos and we will help you choose one that works best with this process. Space will be limited with this class so you should plan to reserve your spot early by signing up at the Rectangle Gallery or on Brown Paper Tickets.
