Passed Presents is Alicia Steele and Jayanthi Kyle. These two are practicing deep connection to each other, to their excellent black ancestors, all of the while they are connecting the audience to their own individual spirits as well as a sense of connection to other audience members who by being present are enjoying the same auditory and Soul-istic pleasure. Jayanthi Kyle and Alicia Steele are new deep friends. They practice deep sisterhood with each other. They experience the gifts of this practice often on and off "stage.
THE LACEWINGS
The Lacewings (Katherine Parent & Sarah Larsson) draw from the deep roots of womens folk music from Europe and European immigrants to North America. Katherine speaks Norwegian and Sarah speaks Serbo-Croatian, but neither are from those countries. Instead, the pair have engaged in years of deep study of folk music, learning from master-singers from Europe and the U.S. The Lacewings present folk music interwoven with stories of women working, learning together, and making a life through art.
