World jazz group Heard takes listeners on a trip around the world with musical explorations of human creativity across the globe. Playing the original compositions of pianist Elizabeth Woodbury Kasius, Heard is a masterful ensemble featuring the finest musicians in the Capital District. With a dynamic and joyful sound that ignites feelings and imagination, Elizabeth is often called on to create compositions for modern dance companies. She has worked with Martha Graham, Mark Morris, Jose Limon, and Doug Varone Companies, and the NYC Ballet. Leading the ensemble on keyboards and storytelling, Elizabeth will be accompanied by Jonathan Greene (woodwinds, mbira), Bobby Kendall (bass), Brian Melick (percussion), Zorkie Nelson (percussion). The ensemble will be joined tonight by special guests Rebecca Kleinmann on flutes, vocalist Shari Parslow, and flamenco guitarist Maria Zemantauski.
