If you have the blues, play the blues, or love the blues we got you covered! Caffè Lena and The Saratoga Acoustic Blues Society team up to present a monthly acoustic blues open mic. Bring your acoustic guitar, harps, slides, mandolin, bass or whatever (Lena's has the piano) and sign up for a slot to play solo, as a duo, ensemble or even have players in the room join you on stage.
Acoustic Blues Open Mic is held on the 4th Wednesday of the month and is hosted by Sonny Speed. Sign up is 7 pm. Names are pulled out of a lottery at 7:30. A monthly featured act opens up and the open mic follows 8 PM.
2013 Boston Blues Finalist, Robin O'Herin, specializes in historically rich, often interactive concerts that include original and traditional American music, based in the pounding backbeat of the Mississippi Delta. Specializing in Delta and Piedmont blues and gospel she brings this seminal music into the present. Robin has shared the stage with Paul Geremia, Andy Cohen and Roy Bookbinder, as well as touring regionally in the US and in Europe. She has had her original music licensed to PBS. She loves teaching and working with raisingtheblues.org and other local organizations to bring music into the lives of children and adults that might not have any.
