$100 for 18 Reasons member; $125 for general public

Join 18 Reasons and Esa Yonn-Brown owner/ chef of Butter Love Bakeshop, a small bakery here in SF. Working with her mom's recipes, Esa has perfected the art of the pie crust and wants to share the love!

In this class we will learn the tricks to making the perfect doughs at home: sweet pie dough, savory pie dough, a tart dough and shortbread dough. Then we learn the secrets to make pies, empanadas, tarts and galettes!

We will also cover the basics:
Mixing & Rolling
Pinching the Dough
Fillings & Toppings
Baking times

We will get to taste some of the recipes Esa is famous for! Everyone will get to go home with doughs they made to start baking in their own kitchen and lots of recipes to inspire the palate!

Esa has been working in the restaurant world since she was 16 years old and her husband Josh, who she met at the San Francisco City College Hotel and Restaurant program has made a career as a Chef and Sous Chef in many of San Francisco's finest restaurants, such as Zuni Cafe. Esa's career as a pastry Chef is well rounded by her experience in catering and as the Chef at the Spencer House, a former bed and breakfast. Combined they have over 35 years experience in the culinary world.
