Americana stand-outs, Mike & Ruthy have assembled a new band and, as was the case with their last one (The Mammals), fans and critics alike are showing a lot of love.

Their rocking debut album, Bright As You Can, celebrates the grit and glory of kinship, blood and otherwise and is being hailed as "One of the year's standout Americana albums" (Boston Globe). They play with jubilation as exciting and powerful as any quintet out there, mixing up fiddle and banjo with drums, bass, pedal steel and organ. Their concerts dance from Americana ho-downs to sassy blues, Motown soul, old-timey harmonies, rock-n-roll energy and infectious, inspired songwriting.

As with previous Mike + Ruthy endeavors, the rootsy material covers much ground, but the through-line remains family. And this time out, the tempos are brisker, the playing more fervent than ever before.
