Join powerhouse singers Amy Black and Sarah Borges for a soulful celebration of the incredible music that came out of Muscle Shoals, Alabama in the 1960s and 70s. Together, with a full band, they will perform classic songs originally recorded in Muscle Shoals, Alabama by Otis Redding, Wilson Pickett, The Rolling Stones, Aretha Franklin, Etta James, Lou Rawls, Bob Dylan and many others, as well as a few originals that embody the spirit and soul of Muscle Shoals. Singer/songwriter Amy Black is based in Boston, but has Southern soul in her blood. This project grew out a four-song EP she recorded in her hometown of Muscle Shoals last summer with Rock and Roll Hall of Famer, Spooner Oldham. Sarah Borges is an alluring figure onstage, delivering performances packed with power and punch. Born to play rock 'n' roll, she gives of herself fully. She has been praised in Rolling Stone, The New York Times, USA Today, Creative Loafing and The Boston Globe. Stepping away from her rock 'n' roll repertoire, Sarah brings her intensity and fire to the classic music of Muscle Shoals...to great effect.
