18 Reasons is delighted to offer you a new dining experience. In collaboration with Notch, we are blending food and art to create an evening aesthetic delight, culinary innovation, and creative contemplation. The theme of the evening is residue and will be discuss through seven courses that conflate past, present and future. Rarely have we been so excited about a new dinner format, so please come and join in the experience. There are only 12 seats available.

March Forth (notch 52) is a continuation in a series of underground dinners in with Miles Ake, Sarah Beadle and Roby Saavedra. Notch originated in Los Angeles in 2007 this will be second dinner together in San Francisco.

"Notch" is a moniker for a collective that have been engaged in culinary endeavors for over four years. Notch is interested in the menu as a proposition, the invitation of an eating engagement as well as collapsing distinction between service provider (producer) and diner (consumer). We are also interested in the meal as a metaphor for drawing; 'drawing' people in (invitation); following a line (menu composition); lines of a conversation (social interaction). And, at the core, we are investigating how a meal is remembered, represented or re-visited. In our creation, Notch is habitual in the way that a sketchbook is habitual: continually being added to, accumulating various marks and never actually finishing. We consist of a rotating core of individuals (Miles Ake, Keith Pasko, Roby Saavedra, Sarah Beadle, J.R. Valenzuela and Satomi Nagata) interested in food and the dining experience as an artistic medium. Each notch exists as an event involving food in some capacity. The scale and scope of each food event is always variable and the form that each meal takes is always changing.
