Role at Brown Paper Tickets: Director of Human Resources
Why I love Brown Paper Tickets: The people! We have some pretty amazing people working at BPT; people from all regions of the country and world and from backgrounds as varied as art, law and music. Despite the talent, you won't find big egos; everyone is super friendly, intelligent, thoughtful and fun. Especially fun.
Then there's the company itself. Brown Paper Tickets is refreshing in a world of faceless organizations. It truly values it's biggest asset - its people - and creates a place to expand our personal as well as professional talents. Sure, we work hard, but there's plenty of room for fun - like playing Operation from the company game collection or reading Harry Potter from the company library during downtime.
Best part of the job: Having the opportunity to help. Whether it's making sure someone gets their Paid Time Off, is enrolled in health insurance, or generally has the resources or support they need to do their job. And Benefits!! Working for a company that values its people and values fun provides an opportunity to explore and expand employee benefits at a time when most companies are retracting them.
Fun fact about my hometown: There's a squirrel bridge...and a giant wooden squirrel in the City Center. The bridge was allegedly featured on Ripley's Believe it or Not! in the 80's.
The most beautiful thing I've ever seen: Rugged cliffs, the frothing sea, vineyard terraces and multi-colored village housing in Corniglia.
