Gastronomie 491 and The Joy of Cheese Present The Summer Pairings with Wine
Our late May/early June heatwave suggests that summer is here with a vengeance. It's time for lighter, cooler wines and the cheeses that match them. Please join us Wednesday June 19 at 7 at Gastronomie 491, 491 Columbus Avenue (between 83rd and 84th) for a tasting of six pairs of wonderful wine and cheese. Martin Johnson, the lead cheesemonger at Gastronomie 491 and creator of The Joy of Cheese (note the caps, the joys of cheese have been well known for centuries), will discuss the cheese. Andy Besch, author of The Wine Guy, and owner of West Side Wines (corner of 83rd and Columbus) will expand our wine knowledge. Expect intrigue, deliciousness and fun. Tickets are $20.
