2013 Mid-Year Legislative Update. Bills to Watch.

There are many proposed laws being discussed in the current legislative session that will affect California employers if passed. We will be highlighting the potential changes to these laws that could affect you, including: increasing the minimum wage (AB 10); prohibiting inquiries into social media passwords (AB 25); changing the definition of sex harassment (SB 292); changing attorneys' fees awards from prevailing party to an employee-favored award for wage and hour claims (SB 462); providing more flexibility in the workplace (SB 607); waiver of waiting time penalties on employer for resolution of claims (AB 228); providing time off for targets of stalking (SB 400); changing exemptions to overtime compensation (SB 554); and many others.
