Do or Dine and Sound Liberation Front are teaming up again for "Rub-A-Grub", a food and music dance party featuring Bed-Stuy hip-hop legend Ali Shaheed Muhammad, DJ Amir (Kon & Amir) and a special menu by Do or Dine's chefs.

Building off the sold-out success of last year's "Rub-A-Grub", Do or Dine and SLF are excited to be hosting another food-infused party in the restaurant's backyard. The event will kick-off in the afternoon and feature three rounds of food and drinks, coupled with guest DJs. Round-one will feature appetizers and bottomless bloody mary's, followed by a second round of appetizers and beer + shot special. Taking us into the early evening will be round three, which will include a featured cocktail and BBQ. After 10pm the party will continue at neighboring watering hole, One Last Shag.

DJ & Producer Ali Shaheed Muhammad is known around the world as one-third of the legendary hip hop group, A Tribe Called Quest. An integral part of ATCQ'S iconic productions, Ali joined J-Dilla and Q-Tip in the collective, The Ummah. After ATCQ's breakup, Ali Shaheed Muhammad formed Lucy Pearl with Raphael Saadiq. Ali has also built up a solo career, beginning with his 2004 debut LP- Shaheedulah and Stereotypes- featuring the dance song, All Night. Ali Shaheed Muhammad has sustained an influential role in hip hop music, as well as Bed-Stuy's rich cultural history.

With over two decades, DJ Amir Abdullah understands the music industry better than most. On the one side, DJ Amir is a club rocking, crate digging, turntable purist. On the other hand, Amir Abdullah is a deft businessman, working behind the scenes at such venerable labels as Fat Beats Records, Rapster/K7 Records in Germany, Label Manager of Wax Poetics and founder of 180 Proof Records. As half of Kon & Amir, Amir has toured the world over, turning the duo's initial underground following into a worldwide network of fans.

Do or Dine has been paving an innovative culinary trail in Bed-Stuy since in 2011, receiving wide acclaim for their fun and eccentric approach to cuisine or "fine diving" as the owners call it. NY Magazine notes, "nothing is as straightforward as it seems. There are (savory) doughnuts stuffed with foie gras mousse, and fried dumplings under a veil of melted cheese an Asian-fied play on nachos."

Sound Liberation Front has been hosting music events in Brooklyn since 2007. From underground parties to large scale productions, SLF events have been featured by NPR, Time Out NY, Village Voice and National Geographic. This year's Coney Island Reggae Beach Party was featured in the 101 Best Things To Do This Summer and Top 5 Waterfront Events by Time Out NY.
