Bellingham City Club Program May 2013
On May 22nd, Bellingham City Club will host our Annual Meeting at 11:30 a.m. Current paid members will vote for new Board Members and thank outgoing Board Members. Changes to by-laws will be presented for approval to the Membership. The monthly program will follow at the regular time.

Bellingham City Club welcomes Tom McDonald a highly respected "water lawyer" from Olympia who will fill us in on Western water law and how it impacts the upcoming decisions on who has rights to water in the 14 river sheds in Western Washington. Tom currently serves on the Washington State Pollution Control Hearings Board and is in private practice with a range of clients including businesses, local governments, the Washington Water Conservancy and other environmental organizations.

Mr. McDonald will also identify the positions of  the various interest groups wrestling with this issue, the risks to all of us if these interests do not resolve the issue and suggest good models for successfully resolving water rights that would  benefit the whole community.

Founded in 1993, the Bellingham City Club is a non-partisan civic organization that fosters dialogue and debate on important issues facing our community. City Club meets for lunch on the 4th Wednesday of the month at Northwood Hall (3240 Northwest Avenue, Bellingham, WA). A buffet lunch is served at 11:50 a.m.; the program starts at 12:20 p.m. and ends at 1:30 p.m. Lunch costs $13 for members and $18 for non-members when purchased in advance on Brown Paper Tickets; a limited number of tickets may be available at the door at the cost of $15 for members and $20 for guests. The program is open to the public.
