Spiritually sick? Astrally discombobulated? Let Ms. Teena Geist help you to ascend to a higher plane of self-actualization through The Stairwell Symphony.

A group ritual of cleansing and transformation, this event will find Ms. Geist opening her heart, mind, and third eye to share with you the infinite wisdom she's gained in her seventeen long and fruitful years as a journeywoman on this planet.

This presentation of The Stairwell Symphony will feature live music by Ben Seretan.

Teena Geist has performed at venues in Philadelphia (Institute of Contemporary Art, Johnny Brenda's, City Hall), Los Angeles (PURE O), Chicago (The Den), and Minneapolis (The Bryant-Lake Bowl).

Artists:

Mark McCloughan (creator/performer) is an artist and writer in New York City. He is one half of No Face Performance Group, a long-term collaboration with Philadelphia-based Jaime Maseda. Since forming in 2007, the group has created more than 15 performances that have been seen in NYC (JACK, CATCH series, Ars Nova), Philadelphia (FringeArts, Vox Populi), Chicago (Links Hall), Los Angeles (PURE O) and elsewhere. Since 2014 he has collaborated with Eiko Otake as dramaturg for her solo project A Body in Places, which received a special citation at the 2016 New York Dance and Performance Bessie awards. He has also collaborated with many other artists and companies, including Pig Iron Theatre Company, Team Sunshine Performance Corporation, New Paradise Laboratories, Gabrielle Revlock, Spencer Sheridan/Public Trust, Melissa Krodman & Kelly Bond, and Jenna Horton. He is the author of the chapbook No Harbor (L + S Press, 2014), and his poetry has appeared or is forthcoming in American Poetry Review, Juked, Lines + Stars, and decomP, among others.

Spencer Sheridan (design) is a digital artist and designer in Los Angeles.

Ben Seretan (music) is an accomplished instrumentalist, songwriter, and performer living and working in New York City. He has performed hundreds of concerts since striking out on his own as a solo artist in 2011. He has also been selected for a number of prestigious residency awards, including the Wassaic Project in 2012, the Sitka Fellows Program in 2013, and Flux Factory in 2014. Additionally, Ben has released a dazzling portfolio of recorded work ranging from introspective song collections to full band ragers to calm, minimal guitar drones. His most beloved work - 2014's self-titled double LP - has completely sold out of its first run and enjoyed a number of accolades, including Rumore magazine's album of the month, December 2014.
