Get out of your head: Improvisation for freelancers
As a freelancer, it's just you, your thoughts, your pitches, and your work. And while you like the freedom that brings, there are some downsides. Maybe you spend a lot of your time sweating about cold calling a potential client, racking your brain for your next article idea, or standing around awkwardly trying to break the ice at some swanky networking event. Working by yourself means a lot of time spent in your head - concerned that you don't have what it takes to play this game, or that faking it until you make it is a very bad idea.
In this workshop, well explore improvisation as a tool to get out of your head, focus on the moment, and to stop worrying about the future or what someone else might think. Through (light) discussions and (mostly) playful practice, you'll exercise the brain muscles that develop trust in yourself and resilience from failure.
You'll learn to:
- Relax and present your ideas clearly and confidently - Appreciate operating in an environment of uncertainty - Take risks and enjoy the freedom to fail - Listen and find agreement with others ideas - Brainstorm like a champion - Build relationships without an app - Play like a child again
Who this is for? Freelancers, artists, musicians, and small business owners who want to...
- Become better speakers and presenters - Learn how to really listen to potential customers - Gain confidence to put themselves out there - Thrive in the unknown
