Drag Class with Alexander the Great and Mad Max Morrison

Alexander the Great and Mad Max Morrison are co-producers of Austin's premiere drag king troupe, the Boiz of Austin! Alexander is an award winning aerialist and drag king, and has performed in festivals and shows all over the state, and as far as Los Angeles, New York City, and multiple times in Europe! Mad Max has been performing as a drag king for 8 years and founded the Boiz in 2015! Both Alexander and Mad Max have been voted and ranked as 2 of the Top 25 Drag Kings in the World!

Sunday, August 13th, join Alexander and Mad Max for a class in Drag History and Movement! The lecture component will discuss the rich history of drag artistry, as well as drag theory. We will discuss what drag is, where it comes from, and where its going!

The workshop portion of the class will cover drag movement. Drag is the expression of gender, so we will cover the basics of presenting various genders (or lack of gender) with movement!

We cover various forms of expressing gender through make up, from facial hair, to make up application, gender bending make up and more.

The class will also cover body alteration! We will cover the basics of how to bind safely, how to securely pack, changing your body shape, enhancing or diminishing your body and much more.

Both courses open to ALL persons of ALL identities!
