Edible and Medicinal Plant Walk: Seward Park
Join me for this two hour walk in Seward Park to learn about the edible and medicinal plants in Seward Park.
You can expect to learn about some of the major native plants such as Oregon grape, cedar, nettle, cramp bark, poison oak, trailing blackberry, willow, hawthorn and more. Seward Park is also home to several ornamental plants such as oak, liriodendron, various pines, and chaste tree berry. We'll learn tricks for identification, family patterns, how to harvest and any edible and medicinal uses.
Seward Park is a big park, and you can expect to walk 1-2 miles during the walk, some of which may be on narrow, unpaved trails.
We'll meet in the first parking lot in the upper loop where there are picnic shelters and a playground.
TIME: August 23, 2017, 6:30-8:30pm PLACE: Seward Park, upper loop. COST: $30 MAX: 15 people
