Crostata (Rustic Fruit Tart) Workshop

In this 2.5-hour workshop you will learn the lifetime skill of how to make make a Traditional Art of the Pie® Dough (your choice of either all butter or butter and leaf lard), and delicious fruit fillings. Each participant will make four fruit tarts to take home or eat right on the spot and leave with enough dough to make an additional four. All ingredients and recipes are included in this workshop.

Kate McDermott, the creator and founder of Art of the Pie ® has taught the time-honored craft of pie making to thousands and is one of the most highly sought-after culinary instructors nationally. Her work has been featured in "Saveur" Magazine's Top 100 Issue, Washington Post, USA Today and New York Times. Widely acknowledged as one of the best makers of pie ever, she has received high praise from Dorie Greenspan, Elise Bauer (Simply Recipes), Ruth Reichl, David Leibovitz and many others.

Kate's book ART OF THE PIE: A PRACTICAL GUIDE TO CRUSTS, FILLINGS, AND LIFE received James Beard and International Association of Culinary Professionals nominations and has been called "one of the best books written on the subject." She has been written about in numerous books, magazines & blogs by award winning authors. Always friendly, fun, and down-to-earth, Kate, a practitioner of kindness, aspires to pass on the craft of pie-making and home baking to as many as she can.

Workshop will be held in Port Angeles, WA; Address will be sent to attendees upon registration.
