OHAYO OHIO Washi papermaking event and lecture with Tim Barrett
Japanese techniques for papermaking, like similar methods used in other Asian countries, allow the production of exceptionally thin, long-fibered sheets. This workshop will begin with each student making their own mould and mould covering which they will be able to keep for their own papermaking at home after the conclusion of the workshop.

Working with cooked paper mulberry (kozo) fiber, participants will form, press and dry their own sheets. A 1pm lecture on Japanese and European papermaking follows a lunch break and is included in the workshop. The event is free to Antioch students but requires a refundable $10 deposit to reserve a spot.  The participation fee for non-students is $60, which includes all materials costs, including your own paper creation to take home.
